Any engine order given should be repeated by the person operating the bridge telegraph(s) and the officer of the watch should ensure the order is carried out correctly and inmediately. La persona que maneje el(los) telégrafo(s) del puente repetirá toda orden que se le dé y el oficial de guardia se cerciorará de que la orden se ejecuta correcta e inmediatamente.
Order Orden
1. (Port/ starboard engines) Full ahead/ astern (Motores de babor/estribor) avante toda/atrás toda.
2. (Port/ starboard engines) Half ahead astern (Motores de babor/estribor) avante media/atrás media.
3. (Port starboard engines) Slow ahead astern (Motores de babor/estribor) avante poca/atrás poca.
4. (Port/starboard engines) Dead slow ahead astern (Motores de babor/estribor) avante muy poca/atrás muy poca.
5. Stop (port/starboard) engines Parar el motor (de babor/estribor).
6. Emergency full ahead/ astern Avante a toda/atrás toda, emergencia.
7. Stand by engine (Engine-room personnel fully ready to manoeuvre and bridge manned to relay engine orders.) Atención a la máquina. (Personal de la cámara de máquinas listo para maniobrar y puente dotado del personal necesario para transmitir las órdenes a la máquina.)
8. Finished with engines – no more manoeuvring. (Operation of engines no longer required.) Listo de máquinas – han terminado las maniobras. (No van a necesitarse ya las máquinas).
In vessels fitted with twin propellers, the word “both” should be added to all orders affecting both shafts, e.g. “Full ahead both”, and “Slow astern both”, except that the words “Stop all engines” should be used, when appropriate. When required to manoeuvre twin propellers independently, this should be indicated, i.e. “Full ahead starboard”, “Half astern port”, etc. En los buques que lleven hélices gemelas, se añadirá la expresión “las dos” al final de todas las órdenes relativas a ambos ejes; por ejemplo “avante toda las dos” y “atrás poca las dos”, si bien se utilizará la expresión “¡Pare las máquinas!” cuando proceda. Cuando sea necesario maniobrar las hélices gemelas independientemente, se dará la indicación oportuna, o sea, “Estribor avante toda”, “Babor avante media, etc.
Where bow thrusters are used, the following orders are used: Si se utilizan impulsores laterales, las órdenes que procede dar son las siguientes:
9. Bow thruster full/half to port/ starboard. Impulsor de proa a babor/estribor toda/media.
10. Stern thruster full/half to port/starboard. Impulsor de popa a babor/estribor toda/media.
